
Dr. Cherniack is currently an
associate professor of computer science at Brandeis University. He has published numerous research papers about database systems, and specifically, in the areas of query optimization, profile-driven data management and stream processing systems. He was the winner of the prestigious
CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation, and has served on numerous database conference program committees and review panels. He is also a co-founder of Streambase Systems. He received a bachelor's degree in education from McGill University, a master's in computer science from Concordia University and a Ph.D in computer science from Brown University.
